
Purbalingga Police – PNN NEWS – The Narcotics Investigation Unit (Satresnarkoba) of Purbalingga Police successfully uncovered two cases of drug abuse. The cases were presented during a press conference held at Wicaksana Laghawa Hall, Purbalingga Police Headquarters, on Friday (February 20, 2026).
Deputy Chief of Purbalingga Police, Commissioner Agus Amjat Purnomo, who led the press conference, stated that the police managed to uncover two drug abuse cases occurring within the Purbalingga Regency area.

“The cases were uncovered when the Satresnarkoba team conducted covert patrols and surveillance in the Purbalingga Regency area,” he said, accompanied by Head of the Narcotics Investigation Unit AKP Ihwan Ma’ruf and Acting Head of Public Relations Iptu Dwi Arto.
First Case
The first case was uncovered on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at approximately 3:00 a.m. on the main road of Selaganggeng Village, Mrebet District, Purbalingga Regency.
“The suspect identified by the initials IS (38), a self-employed resident of Patikraja District, Banyumas Regency, was arrested,” he explained.
The suspect acted as an intermediary in methamphetamine distribution. The method used involved placing the drugs at a designated location, photographing the spot, and sharing the map coordinates. The suspect received Rp 50,000 as payment from the seller.

Evidence seized included:
18 used red KIS candy wrappers containing black straw pieces with clear plastic clips filled with methamphetamine weighing 4.14853 grams
5 duct-taped packages containing transparent plastic clips filled with methamphetamine weighing 5.01631 grams
1 used red KIS candy wrapper containing methamphetamine weighing 0.23669 grams
1 black sling bag
1 mobile phone
1 motorcycle
“The total weight of methamphetamine seized was 9.40153 grams,” he added.
The suspect was charged under Article 114 paragraph (2) of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics and Article 609 paragraph (2) letter a of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
“The suspect faces the death penalty, life imprisonment, or a prison sentence of at least six years and up to 20 years,” he emphasized.
Second Case
The second case was uncovered on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at approximately 2:45 a.m. on the front terrace of a prayer room located in the area of Padamara gas station, Padamara District, Purbalingga Regency.
The suspect identified by the initials JP (23), a male resident as per his ID card address in Tambaksogra Village, Sumbang District, Banyumas Regency, was arrested.
“The suspect stored and/or carried 388 pills of Class IV psychotropic substances intended for sale to gain profit,” he said.
Evidence seized included packages containing:

The Deputy Chief added that in the second case, the suspect was charged under Article 62 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 5 of 1997 concerning Psychotropics in conjunction with Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1 of 2026 concerning Criminal Sentencing Adjustments.

“The suspect faces a maximum prison sentence of five years and/or a Category IV fine of up to Rp 200 million,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, Head of the Narcotics Investigation Unit AKP Ihwan Ma’ruf explained that in the psychotropics case, the suspect was a heavy user and a patient at a clinic in Bandung.
“During treatment, the suspect obtained psychotropic medication from a doctor for medical purposes. However, instead of using all of it for treatment, he sold part of it for profit,” he explained.
